Small choices, big savings on cards
Because cards are ganged in the hundreds, a better layout compounds fast.
Run on SRA3. The extra width over A3 usually adds a whole row or column — 25-up vs 21-up for a standard card.
Mind the cutting gap. Cards butted on shared lines (0 gap) fit the most; add a small gap only if each card needs its own bleed.
Rotate to fit. The tool already tests the card both ways — sometimes turning it 90° adds several cards per sheet.
Questions
Business cards — FAQ
How many business cards fit on an SRA3 sheet?+
A standard 85 × 55 mm card fits 25-up on SRA3 (320 × 450 mm) — 5 across by 5 down with the card rotated. On A3 (297 × 420 mm) you get 21-up, which is why cards are usually ganged on SRA3.
What is the standard business card size?+
In Ethiopia and most of Europe the standard is 85 × 55 mm (also 90 × 50 mm). The US standard is 3.5 × 2 in (89 × 51 mm). This tool includes all of them plus square and mini cards.
Do I need bleed on business cards?+
Yes, if colour or images run to the edge. Add about 3 mm bleed on every side and a small cutting gap between cards. Use our bleed calculator to get the document size right.
What is gang-running cards?+
Gang-running means filling one press sheet with many cards (often several designs) and cutting them apart afterwards. It spreads the setup cost across many cards, which is why per-card prices drop with quantity.
